چکیده

In spatially multiplexed MIMO systems that enable high-data-rate transmission over wireless communication channels, spatial demultiplexing at the receiver is a challenging task. Thus, various demultiplexing methods have been developed by many researchers. In this paper, a novel signal detection method that achieves near-ML performance in a computationally efficient manner is proposed. The proposed method is based on the well-known minimum mean squared error (MMSE) ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) method. However, unlike the conventional MMSE-OSIC, a number of candidates are selected at each layer, hence, it has been termed MMSEOSIC with Candidates (MMSE-OSIC). In this study, it is demonstrated via a series of computer simulations that the MMSE-OSIC achieves near-ML performance while requiring a complexity comparable to that of the conventional MMSEOSIC. Also shown here is that the log likelihood ratio (LLR) values are successfully generated via the proposed method.

A Generalized MMSE Detection with Reduced Complexity for Spatially Multiplexed MIMO Signals

In multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) spatially multiplexing (SM) systems, achievable error rate performance is determined by signal detection strategy. The optimal maximum-likelihood detection (MLD) that exhaustively examines all symbol candidates has exponential complexity and may not be applicable in many practical systems. In this paper, we consider a generalized minimum mean square erro...

A study on LDPC coded hybrid-ARQ using spatially multiplexed MIMO-OFDM

In this paper, we consider the Type-II Hybrid ARQ schemes with the LDPC codes having the rate of 0.5 through MIMO-OFDM Spatial Multiplexing (SM) schemes for high speed and high throughput transmission. MMSE nulling and MLD are used for the signal separation and detection method in SM. We also have used the channel estimation per subcarrier with MMSE criterion. The uncoded Hybrid ARQ schemes wit...

Linear Signal Detection for Spatially Multiplexed Mimo Systems Using Antenna Diversity Technique

Due to the ever increasing demand for faster data transmission speed in the recent or future telecommunication systems, the multiple antenna systems have been actively investigated and successfully deployed for the emerging broadband wireless access networks (e.g., Mobile WiMAX) . Even when a wireless channel with high channel capacity is given, we still need to find good techniques to achieve ...

Feedback Reduction of Spatially Multiplexed MIMO Systems Using Compressive Sensing

In this paper we analyze spatially multiplexed MIMO systems with limited Channel State Information (CSI) and zero forcing (ZF) linear signal detection technique. Two schemes were considered: Quantization Codebook (QC) and Compressive Sensing (CS). Compressive Sensing is used to generate a reduced CSI feedback to the transmitter in order to reduce feedback load into the system. Performance of th...

Robust linear MIMO receivers: a minimum error-rate approach

This paper looks at the linear reception of spatially multiplexed signals across MIMO channels. We address the problem of robustness in the presence of detrimental effects such as correlation and Ricean components. We consider the error-rate performance of MIMO linear filters, as these can be used in purely linear receivers, or as part of each stage in successive interference canceling (SIC) re...
